Spell checking references in EndNote

Although you can't spell check your entire EndNote library in one go, you can spell check individual records:
  1. Double-click on a record to open it.
  2. Click on the spell check icon in the toolbar.

Note: the spell check does not work for any of the author or editor fields.

Transferring references from EndNote Web to the desktop version

Due to a problem with the EndNote software the Transfer References option (which lets you move references between your EndNote Web account and your desktop EndNote library) is not available at the moment. The EndNote software will be upgraded over the summer and this should solve the problem.

In the meantime, if you are using EndNote Web you can still format your list of references in the CU Harvard Style, without transferring your references into a desktop EndNote library, by following the steps below:
  1. Create your Word document using your references within EndNote Web.
  2. Bring the file onto campus.
  3. From a campus PC open the EndNote software (Start > Programs > EndNote X) and create a new blank library.
  4. Open your Word document.
  5. From the EndNote toolbar use the Format Bibliography icon to select the CU Harvard Style.

This will reformat your bibliography in the correct format.
